Transport and logistics opportunities of Kazakhstan were presented in Bangkok

The delegation of JSC "NC "KTZ" took part in the Forum "Kazakhstan: potential market for Thai business", in Bangkok.

 

The event was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand, Federation of Thai industries and the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Thailand. Over 300 businessmen and CEOs of leading Thai companies representing such sectors as agriculture, energy, chemical industry, tourism, transport logistics, mechanical engineering and manufacturing took part at this event.

 

The participants discussed the main vectors of trade and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Thailand, transport and logistics opportunities of Kazakhstan as a transit hub between East and West, North and South.

 

Thai officials and representatives of business community exchanged views on the possibilities indicated in the Message of Nursultan Nazarbayev, "the Third modernization of Kazakhstan: global competitiveness" to improve the business climate and strengthening of trade-economic and transport communications.

During the forum were presented the transport and logistics opportunities of Kazakhstan and international transport corridors passing through the territory of the country.

 

“JSC "NC "KTZH" pays special attention to expand cooperation with potential trading and logistics partners in South-East Asia," said Executive Director of JSC "KTZ Express" Sergey Anashkin.

The Kazakh-Chinese terminal in the port of Lianyungang, connecting Southeast Asia with Kazakhstan as well as the SEZ "Khorgos – Eastern Gateway", today are infrastructure centers, capable to provide the flows between the major poles of the world economy Asia and Europe.

 

In this regard, Kazakhstan offers to use multimodal solutions that ensure speed of delivery from China ports - from 6 days (combined transport Rail - Air) to 16 days (container rail transportation CBT – Container Block Trains) to Western Europe for business people of South-East Asia.

 

S. Anashkin urged Thai exporters and the representatives of logistic business to participate in the New Silk road project, as well as logistics and industrial projects of SEZ "Khorgos - Eastern Gateway". He stressed that this will open new opportunities for expanding the trade potential of both countries, as well as logistics capabilities with partner countries on the Eurasian continent.

 

Following the forum participants agreed on visit to Kazakhstan of six trade and investment missions of Thailand in the framework of EXPO-2017 and also to discuss practical issues of investment and business in Kazakhstan.
