Sea transportation

KTZ Express offers reliable and efficient sea freight solutions using key ports of the Caspian and Black Seas. We ensure stable logistics in international connections between China, Central Asian countries, the Caucasus, Turkey, Europe, and the Persian Gulf, using sea freight as part of integrated intermodal solutions.

What is sea freight?

Sea freight is a logistics service in which cargo is transported by sea between ports using various types of vessels (dry cargo ships, ferries, container ships). This mode of transport is especially effective for large shipments, containerized goods, heavy and oversized cargo that require cost-efficient and reliable delivery over long distances.

Geography of sea freight

KTZ Express operates actively on key routes, connecting seaports with land and railway infrastructure:

Aktau Port (Kazakhstan) — a strategic export–import hub on the Caspian Sea

Ports of Poti and Batumi (Georgia) — access to the Black Sea and onward to Europe

Kuryk Port (Kazakhstan) — ferry connection with the ports of Baku and Alat

Port of Istanbul (Turkey) — connecting sea and rail routes along the East–West axis

Port of Alat (Azerbaijan) — the logistics hub of the South Caucasus

We provide cargo delivery from China and Central Asia through Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, and the countries of Eastern and Southern Europe, with further transportation to the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Intermodal logistics

Sea freight is an integral part of multimodal logistics. We integrate sea delivery with:

  • Via railway routes through Kazakhstan, China, and towards the EU
  • By road transport within the CIS countries, the Caucasus, and Europe
  • Warehousing operations, transshipment, and customs clearance

Thanks to this integration, we provide clients with “door-to-door” solutions, where sea freight is just one link in a well-organized supply chain.
