KTZ Express and Rail Cargo Austria AG Sign Memorandum of Cooperation, Boosting TITR Transit Potential

A high-level meeting was held today at the headquarters of "NC "KTZ" JSC in Astana between the leadership of KTZ Express and "NC "KTZ" JSC and a delegation from the Republic of Austria, led by Mr. Haubner, the Second President of the National Council of the Austrian Parliament.


During the meeting, the parties discussed development prospects for the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), the strengthening of logistics interaction, and the expansion of cooperation between the railway companies of Kazakhstan and Austria. Presentations were also delivered by leading Austrian companies expressing interest in transport and infrastructure projects within the region.


The key outcome of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between KTZ Express and Rail Cargo Austria AG (part of ÖBB Holding AG). This agreement is aimed at developing intermodal transportation along the TITR and facilitating the joint use of ÖBB-Holding AG’s terminal and railway infrastructure in Central and Eastern Europe.


The Memorandum was signed on behalf of KTZ Express by D.M. Kozhakhmetov, General Director and Chairman of the Management Board, and on behalf of Rail Cargo Austria AG by Robert Heusmann, Head of Group Strategy at ÖBB-Holding AG.


The document also outlines prospects for the joint development of terminal capacities, including potential projects for the construction of new logistics terminals in the region. This aligns with KTZ Express's strategic objectives to expand its presence in the European market and enhance the efficiency of transit shipments between Asia and Europe.


The signing of this memorandum marks a significant step in strengthening economic ties and expanding the capabilities of the transit corridor between Europe and Asia. It reaffirms KTZ Express's role as a key player in the development of Kazakhstan's international multimodal routes and demonstrates the company's commitment to implementing integrated logistics solutions.
