Meeting of the Akimat of Almaty city, JSC "QazTrade" and JSC "KTZ EXPRESS"

On February 20, 2024, a meeting took place in Almaty between KTZ Express, the Almaty city administration, and QazTrade, during which the development of trade infrastructure for the implementation of socially significant goods for the city's population was discussed. A subsidiary of KTZ Express - "KTZE Commerce" proposed organizing the delivery and storage of perishable products in refrigerated containers at trade fair sites in several districts of Almaty.

The use of refrigerated containers with a special temperature regime will extend the shelf life and preserve the freshness of products such as onions, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cabbage, as well as other vegetables and fruits.

According to KTZ Express, the proposal is promising and can bring significant benefits to farmers and sellers, as well as consumers, by reducing costs and creating conditions for selling goods at lower prices.

As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached on exploring the possibility of launching a pilot project in the Turksib district, with subsequent expansion of the project's geography to the Almaly and Bostandyk districts. A working group consisting of representatives from KTZ Express, QazTrade, and the Almaty city administration will be formed to coordinate and implement the project.
