KTZ Express and QazTrade organized the first multimodal transportation through the Trans-Afghan corridor

Within the scope of cooperation on development of export potential KTZ Express JSC and QazTrade JSC in partnership with Pakistani logistics operator National Logistics Corporation (NLC) carried out pilot multimodal transportation to Jebel Ali port (UAE) via Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The transportation chain started at SEZ “Pavlodar” on April 27th with loading the cargo into 2 trucks of 21 tons each and sending it to TLC “Zhetygen”, where it was reloaded into 2 40-foot sea containers, after which the containers were set on trucks with a container trailer and shipped to the Pakistani port of Karachi.

It took 20 days for the shipment to arrive in Karachi, having traveled 4,900 kilometers. On June 1, the containers were loaded onto a feeder vessel and delivered to Jebel Ali port on June 3.

The total transportation time was 38 days, which was the most efficient solution for the client. A total of 60 containers are planned to be transported along this route in June-July.

This pilot project is the result of coordinated work of KTZ Express JSC and partners, and is a multimodal service that expands the opportunities of Kazakh exporters to supply products to target markets in the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia.
