JSC «KTZ» NC and major logistics companies of China have agreed to develop container transportation through the territory of Kazakhstan

Delegation of «KTZ» NC JSC headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Board of KTZ NC JSC Sanjar Yelyubaev during a visit to China held a number of bilateral meetings with the management of transport and logistics platforms in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu and Urumqi on the development of cooperation in transport -logistic sphere.


During a meeting with the Chairman of the Management Board of Urumqi Railway LLC Zhang Haitao, the results of international freight traffic for 11 months of 2018 were summed up and plans for 2019 were discussed. Negotiations were held with the leaders of the Chinese logistics platforms of the cities of Xi'an, Suzhou, Yiwu. Parties discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the development of container transport along the route China-Europe-China in transit through the territory of Kazakhstan. In addition, agreements were reached on increasing the volume of cargo transportation and developing logistics supply and service chains on routes between China and the countries of Europe, Central Asia, Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran, as well as the participating countries of the Trans-Caspian corridor. During the visit, the Kazakh delegation also met with the Deputy General Director of COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited Sui Jun and the President of the port of Lianyungang Zhu Xianyan, who are participants in the Dry Port of the Khorgos - Eastern Gate SEZ.

Parties noted the successful development of the Dry Port project, which has now become part of the architecture of global logistics services and ensuring the integration of Kazakhstan transit corridors into the international logistics network, as well as outlined plans for joint logistics and investment cooperation. «Our partnership will expand the geography of transportation in the direction of Turkey, the Caucasus, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and ensure control over transcontinental transit traffic through leverage of geographical presence and impact on tariffs,»- S. Yelubaev noted. Following the results of negotiations with the management of large logistics companies in China, a number of agreements were signed on the organization and development of container transportation.
