“Results of the Kazakhstan-Afghanistan Business Forum: Development of Transport Connectivity and New Agreements”

On October 21, 2024, the Kazakhstan-Afghanistan Business Forum took place in Almaty under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, S. Zhumangarin. The Afghan delegation was led by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan, Nooriddin Aziz.


The event was attended by representatives of government agencies and the business community of Kazakhstan, as well as about 200 representatives of Afghan businesses. The forum discussed key issues concerning transport logistics, transportation, and trade cooperation.


KTZ Express presented its capabilities for expanding cooperation with Afghan partners, with a focus on developing transport connectivity between Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.


Additionally, participants discussed issues related to the railway transportation of grain. It is worth noting that in the first 9 months of 2024, 127,000 tons of grain and 666,000 tons of wheat flour were transported to Afghanistan with the participation of “NC “KTZ JSC.”


As a result of the forum, the parties agreed to jointly develop the Trans-Afghan Corridor and organize container trains from China to Afghanistan through Kazakhstan, with cargo consolidation at the Altynkol station.
