Six-Party Talks Held Between Representatives of the Railways of Kazakhstan, China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and Türkiye

On May 12, 2025, in Tehran, a delegation from «NC «Kazakhstan Temir Zholy» JSC led by the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Logistics, took part in a six-party meeting attended by Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development – Director General of Iranian Railways Dr. Jabbār Ali Zakeri, Director General of the State Corporation «China Railway» Mr. Sun Xiude, as well as deputy heads of the railway administrations of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Türkiye.
The event marked an important step in the development of multilateral cooperation in forming an efficient transport corridor: China – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Türkiye/Europe. A vivid confirmation of the growing demand for this route was the 2.6-fold increase in container shipments along the China–Iran route via Kazakhstan from January to April 2025 compared to the same period last year.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to take joint actions to boost container traffic along this route. They confirmed their readiness to provide comprehensive support for promoting the corridor in the international transportation market.
The parties also approved competitive tariff conditions and agreed on key parameters for organizing train operations, including maintaining the established overall transit time along the entire route.
