A pilot container train following the overland route to Turkey has arrived in Iran

A solemn ceremony of welcoming the first land container train to Turkey via the territories of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran took place in Tehran station at 19 of June.

A demonstration train of 48 containers loaded with sulfur was formed at the Kazakhstan Pavlodar station with the destination of the Turkish Payas station.

The new logistics solution proposed by JSC NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" is attractive to shippers primarily due to the delivery time: in comparison with the alternative route through the Caspian Sea, the train will cover a distance of more than 6,300 km in just 12 days.

In the future, an additional service for high-speed cargo delivery to the Persian Gulf and Turkish markets promises to become regular, it will contribute to an increase in container cargo flow through Kazakhstan.
