Construction of a New Container Hub in the Port of Aktau Discussed in Astana

On May 15, 2025, a working meeting was held at the KTZ Express office with representatives of Lianyungang Port Group Co., Ltd — a strategic partner of the company. The main topic of discussion was the construction of a new container hub in the territory of the Aktau Sea Commercial Port.

The project, implemented jointly by JSC "KTZ Express", Lianyungang Port Group Co., Ltd., and JSC "NC Aktau Sea Commercial Port", will become an important element in the development of Kazakhstan’s modern logistics infrastructure. The participants discussed the current status of planning and implementation, with special attention given to key organizational and technical aspects of the first construction phase.

Upon completion of the first phase, scheduled for the end of this year, the projected throughput capacity of the future hub is expected to reach up to 140,000 TEU annually. The hub is designed to strengthen Kazakhstan’s transit potential, enhance route connectivity, and provide new opportunities for participants in international supply chains.

KTZ Express and Lianyungang Port share over a decade of fruitful cooperation. Over the years, they have implemented major infrastructure projects such as the Kazakhstan-China terminal at the Port of Lianyungang and the Khorgos Gateway Dry Port — both of which have become key nodes in the Eurasian transport corridor.
