Working Group meeting on the TITR route development was held in Istanbul

On March 16 - 17, 2021, in Istanbul (Turkey), the first field meeting of the ALE Working Group "International Association"Trans-Caspian International Transport Route"took place.
During the meeting, the participants of the Working Group were presented with a report on the results of the Association's activities in 2020, as well as development plans for 2021. In the final reports of the participants, despite the difficult working conditions prevailing in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, in general, the stable development of the route was noted, as well as the growth of transit container traffic.
“For 12 months of 2020, transit through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan along the TITR route amounted to 8.1 thousand twenty-foot equivalent (TEU), compared to the same period last year, an increase of 9%. The transit growth trend on the route in 2021 persists and over the past 2 months the volume amounted to 2.6 thousand TEU, which is 2.4 times more than last year", said the Deputy General Director for sales of KTZ Express JSC M. Akhmedzhanova.
In general, according the results of the meeting, the Working Group approved development plans and volumes of cargo transportation by TITR, as well as agreed upon tariffs for cargo transportation for 2021. In addition, in order to fully realize the potential of the TITR route and improve the production and economic indicators of the participants, the Working Group decided to start developing a strategy for the growth of the route until 2025.
