Kazakhstan Railways and China COSCO Shipping Discuss Expansion of Strategic Cooperation

A meeting was held in Shanghai between Mr. E.Kh. Koishibayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board for Logistics at JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” (KTZ), and Mr. Lin Ji, Vice President of China COSCO Shipping Corporation.

The parties reviewed the results of their joint work and discussed new opportunities for deepening cooperation in the field of transport and logistics services. KTZ presented its strategic infrastructure development projects aimed at strengthening Kazakhstan’s role as a key transit hub along the East–West and North–South corridors.

Special attention was given to the successful implementation of the Khorgos Gateway project, which has become a benchmark for effective international partnership. The parties also discussed prospects for joint development of new terminal capacities, the expansion of multimodal transportation, and participation in logistics projects in the Caspian region and Europe.

The meeting underlined the strategic importance of the partnership between KTZ and COSCO Shipping in enhancing Kazakhstan’s transit potential, expanding international logistics routes, and strengthening trade and economic relations.
